This is our distiller's favourite negroni

Spiced Pears

We love this drink as much as the ‘left over’ pear which is a surplus as a result of making the syrup.  The pears on top of a cheesecake or porridge are deeelish!

First make your Spiced Pear Syrup:

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 pear (diced)
  • 3 star anise
  • 2 cardamom pods

Combine the above in a pan and heat until sugar is fully dissolved. Allow syrup to simmer gently for 5 mins, this will help the infusion of flavours, then once cool use a sieve to strain off the pears and spices reserving the liquid. Allow to cool before decanting to a bottle. The syrup can be stored in the fridge for up to one week.  KEEP the pears as they can be used to enhance lots of your culinary treats, i.e. spiced pear cheesecake, spiced pears with cheeseboard, spiced pear porridge, etc.

Avva Gin Fizz

Use the Spiced Pear Syrup for this cocktail!

  • Soda OR Prosecco
  • Garnish - Star Anise
